I was promoted to associate professor in 1974 and to full professor in 1981 in the department of economics. My department was changed to that of the school of management from 1993 to 2000

1990 to 2003
I re-started my career as general secretary of the bible society of Singapore from which I retired in December 2003.
Senior Fellow part-time
January 2004 to present
I have been a senior fellow part-time at various places since 2004 and for the last twenty years I have been senior fellow at the department of economics in NUS
President Bible Society of SGP
2012 to present
I was elected as president of the bible society of Singapore since 2012. It is equivalent to being chairman of that Christian organisation

I also hold a concurrent position as senior fellow in the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy of the National University of Singapore
